We have just been named a National Merit School of Excellence by Magnet Schools of America (MSA), the national association for magnet and theme-based schools. To receive a national merit award, members of MSA must submit a detailed application that is scored by a panel of educators. These schools are judged and scored on their demonstrated ability to raise student academic achievement, promote racial and socioeconomic diversity, provide integrated curricula and instruction, and create strong family and community partnerships that enhance the school’s magnet theme.

each year, Milwee Middle School
Pre-Engineering Magnet has been recognized by MSA in 2016, 2017, 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023, and 2024 their top awards. In 2021 this recognition was not available. Seven years out of the past eight years we have been awarded this honor. In 2022 we were named one of the top 26 Magnet Schools of Excellence. Of the 26 schools, we were one of the 10 schools considered for their highest award. In 2023 we not only received the merit school of excellence award but again have been recognized as one of the top 24 Magnet Schools of Excellence by Magnet Schools of America in the nation.
I want to thank our teachers, staff, parents, and students for all your hard work and dedication to Milwee. Our mission and vision are seen throughout the school day. We truly feel the passion and love for our students. This honor shows the impact that you have made in the lives of our students. You should be very proud.
Milwee will be recognized and receive the 2024 National Magnet School of Excellence Merit Award during an awards ceremony held during Magnet Schools of America’s 41st National Conference April 19, 2024.
