SAC is comprised of parents, community members, students, the school principal, and school instructional and non-instructional staff. SAC members mirror the racial and ethnic makeup of the student body at the school. The purpose of the School Advisory Council (SAC) is to serve in an advisory capacity to the principal and to assist in the development of the educational program and in the preparation and evaluation of the School Improvement Plan pursuant to Section 230.23 (18), Florida Statutes. The primary role of a SAC member is to serve as an advisor to the principal, to ask questions, clarify information, and make recommendations regarding school wide issues that may be impacting student achievement and to make recommendations for school improvement. SAC also oversees a budget based on student enrollment granted from the state. In the distribution of funds, SAC considers grants, direction support for individual school initiatives and other ways to more meaningfully carry out the Milwee's School Improvement Plan.
